ABOUT CATHLEEN

Cathleen Jeanty is a Haitian-American international policy researcher and advocate with expertise in foreign policy, human rights, and youth empowerment. As Deputy International Affairs Officer at the Young Democrats of America and Global Goals Ambassador at the United Nations Association of the USA, she champions Sustainable Development Goal 10 to promote equality in global governance.

Cathleen has presented research to key U.S. stakeholders, including The White House, the U.S. Department of State, and Congress, while collaborating with international organizations like the United Nations and the World Bank. Her experience spans roles such as an Innovation Fellow at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Public Information Editor for the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei, and a member of the 2024 Democratic National Convention’s first-ever class of influencers. She has worked with Pulitzer Prize-winning newsrooms and Nobel Prize nominees and on the Campaign for a National Presidential Youth Council and on Student Energy’s inaugural COP28 Youth Council.

An advocate for transatlantic cooperation and conflict resolution, Cathleen focuses on international partnerships to address global challenges like development, climate action, and security. Recognized for her thought leadership, she has received the President’s Volunteer Service Award from President Joe Biden, won the 2024 Women’s Foreign Policy Group’s International essay contest, and was a National Finalist for The Truman National Security Project. Her work has been featured in Devex and The Atlantic Forum. She serves on Board of The Foundation for a Democratic Future and The Urban Justice Center and is a member of several influential organizations, including Chatham House and Foreign Policy for America.
